A stunning George I gilt wood and gilt gesso girandole with two brass candle arms and wonderfully foxed mercury mirror plate with its original backboard c. 1725. Of handsome proportions, the mirror has a broken swan neck pediment and central plume cresting, above a foliate carved frieze, and an overall softly gilded surface.

Dimensions: 43.3” H x 24.4” W

Condition: Good, age related wear, one of the nozzles to the sconces has been replaced. Very small drill holes on candelabra sconce and nozzle, drill holes on mirror body restored to original condition.
