18th Century Chinese Porcelain Wine Cooler "The Judgement of Paris"

A Rare and Unusual Chinese Export Famille-Rose ‘Judgement of Paris’ rafraîchissoir or wine cooler from the Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period with its original zinc liner. Use for its original purpose as a bottle cooler or as an elegant planter.

Exceptional 18th-century Compagnie des Indes porcelain rafraîchissoir or wine cooler, inspired by Rubens’s 1597 oil painting The Judgement of Paris.

Other piece’s with the same “The Judgment of Paris” design have been sold at auction with both Sotheby’s and Christies, however, aside from plates and punchbowls, no wine coolers of this style have been put up for sale, making it a highly coveted piece for any collector of fine Chinese porcelain.
